Vintage Digger # 3

Human Second Hand : Another organization that will help the world with our shopping gesture. They have both Vintage and second handed. The shop isn’t so small not as nice and so much stuffs as others but who know what you can find in the nowhere land. If you are in the neighborhood, I say stop by if you are far I say stick to one closer to you.

Röda Korset : This place was one of my favorite stop on the way to the city when I studied in Västeras. Basically it’s a boutique that belong to “The Redcross”. All the money goes to the foundation and we are sure making good karma. This place is amazingly cheap ! Their aim is to help people with low income having nice clothes, furniture, household things, textile, kitchenware and even some house decoration. You will be surprise of some of things you can find here. My theory is nice people with nice things like to do the good merit and giving to others with non-benefit organization. It is why some time you can get some good brand for a very cheap price. One is Stockholm is a bit far of my reach but it is not too far when shopping around Slussen is require. First time I visit the place I got this cute spring sweater from Massimo Dutti. Can you believe it costs 40 SEK ! I will sure make a visit there again. The trick to this one is “frequency” not all the time they will have cool things. It is absolutely depends on your luck.

Emmaus : The original shop first start in the late ‘60s, but now it has expanded into three stores; one children’s shop, a designer/vintage shop, and the general shop (the original Emmaus in Sweden). linked together. The shop is also another global organization. All items in the stores are gifts from the local community. So we have Vintage and absolutely second handed here. I would say it’s a lot close to Myrorna and the price isn’t far from it either. Vintage can be more expensive. When I first walk in the store it made me think of Good Will (the thrift store) in USA. The racks are organized by colors and type. I didn’t have a lot of time to explore this place much first time since I was short of time on my visit. Thus I manage to get 1 top from H&M last season that will make a cute dress. I plan to go back there again and see what they got for me.
So my 2nd visit for both vintage and general store. Vintage store was so charming with a card as a price tag and great beautiful clothes. Price is of cause a bit higher thus we understand. I found a lot of stuffs in the general store but only walk out with 3 items. They are more generally clothes with ordinary brand. Zara or Flippa K would be more pricy. I would say this is good for everyday wore drove. Oh also got a vintage looking belt for my boy and he really likes it.
Judy’s second hand : Let’s just say if you are into brand and good condition vintage things, this plce have them all lay out for you. From clothing to shoes and handbag and even accessories. Branding is top quality here and we talk about top brands as well. Chanel , Marc Jacob, Paul Smith, Cavalli and many more! If you have money to spend or feel like investing on the quality of the brand, don’t miss this place. If you think about how much you will have to pay for the first handed it is actually worth the penny. Or if brand is not your thing, stop by for good cozy shop and get to see all this wonderful things. And just a 100 m. away Judy also have a store for men. All stack up with cool looking sweater and rack for of shirts and suits/jacket. And all other things for men. I’m sure money will be worth spend here boy and you will only make one stop for everything. Isn’t this the dream idea.

Sunday Flea market at Hötorget : Or the Haymarket , a city square in the center of Stockholm. OMG! Gotta love waking up early on Sunday be-cuz of this. From about 9 – 4 in the evening this place is crowded with goodies. Don’t think all of them are selling their own stuffs but more like making a living of someone else trash. I think it’s about 10 stands or more each Sunday. Some are regular and not and more things add up every week. This is such a nice flea market for vintage. You gotta have eyes and good hand on this- seriously. Many junk is laying around and who know what you will find. Glassware, silverware, ceramic, jewelry, clothes, pottery, bags, belts.. you name it. So much fun just to walk around with empty handed home but I don’t think that would happen. This is a good place for souvenir as well. Got my lovely orange jacket and my brown leather bag here for 40 SEK in total. (But then again you know I bought more stuffs than that) Loving it! Clothing wise maybe not much but little goodie and house décor is definitely a place. If you get a chance to swing by the city on Sundy, make sure to make a stop.

Vintage digger # 2

I know i should have finish this subject long time ago but something always in the way. And I hope I don't disappoint you with my long post though.
Here come the treasure I discovered so far;

Myrorna : Swedish’s most well known vintage/second handed store. Hundreds and hundreds of stores all over Sweden. Just 10 itself in Stockholm. Myrorna is cheap compare to others and it’s style and price depend on the area they located. Some are small some are big but my favorite is one that that children’s clothes. Well what can I say… I’m Little ;) They have all kind of things for both “Dam and Herr” clothes, shoes, accessories, pottery, textile, books, even some furniture. It’s a great place to start especially when you are new mover. And for those digger like me here you can find both vintage clothes and second handed one. Vintage is a little more expensive than another type. V-Dress can start from 80 SEK and up to 200 SEK. Top can be from 80 SEK While current clothes can be found as cheap as 20 SEK. Vintage shoes are great too but condition and size usually depends on luck. Always new things (with old things) every week ! And you can always switch to other Myrorna in the area. Still this is my favorite place.

Beyond Retro : This place is a REAL vintage deal. I’m not sure if this place is originate from London or here in Sweden. Thus this place surely has its reputation. Sure inspiration the minute you walk in. in case you cannot check out their website http://www.beyondretro.com Everything in the wore drove vintage can be found here from clothes, shoes, bags, hat, and many more. If you have a thing for the retro period, you will like it here. So the price is a bit more expensive than other places but you have to give it to them, putting so much afford in selecting and searching and fixing all the stuffs. Say vintage is your style and you don’t feel like digging much then this is your place. Thus you still have to go through a lotttt of stuffs here anyway because they have tons of selection for you. Where else can you find an old style flower swimming cap or a very classy 50’s hat! I am amaze by this place but then again I like mix n match and the thrill of discover the treasure.

Stockholm Stadsmission : This is my new discover and how nice of them to also have many branches around the city as well. You can find most everything here too. This place is a lot like Myrorna but they mostly have the second handed goodies. The price is good here and for the branding is a little bit higher but still very good for all shopaholics. I got the pinkish top by Karl L. for H&M here for 60 SEK. And a very cool print top from Thai design! Don’t ever say Thai don’t have a good designer. Things that are more current seem to be found here with a little bit more clean and nicer environment. Plus you are helping the world by not waste trash (as they say in their campaign). If your budget is tight and still you are a shopper, don’t miss this place. I’m sure will stop there again.
By the way, Last week Found Marc Jacob pants size 10 for 250 SEK and Balenciaga (Giant First) for 200 SEK but not in good condition. Keep your eyes open!

Princess's wedding dress

What a wonderful feeling to witness such great event even though we got stuck by the crowd and could only see the great big horses. Still it was a lot of joy in the air.

Got a little tear when I came across the re-run ceremony. How wonderful it must be to have your fairly tale comes true.

And now the moment we are waiting for " Crown Princess Victoria's wedding dress was designed by Pär Engsheden. It is made of cream-coloured duchess silk satin, with short sleeves and a turned-out collar, which follows the rounded neckline. The dress has a v-shaped back with covered buttons. The sash at the waist is buttoned up at the back. The train is edged with a border, fastened at the waist, and has the same shape as the veil. The train is almost five metres long. The Crown Princess is wearing Queen Sofia's lace veil. It is the same veil that was worn by Crown Princess Victoria's mother, Queen Silvia, at her marriage to King Carl Gustaf in 1976"

City of Love

And then suddenly Stockholm becomes the City of Love as a result of the wedding of Crown Princess Victoria and HRH Prince Daniel W. And you could say it is the biggest event of Sweden this year. Tomorrow in fact is the big day!

Marketing wise, why not take a benefit of this and make it h u g e attraction. Plus June have always been a best month for a wedding (for what i heard). And L O V E is in the air. Would rather have people in love than hate right. It is the event of history. Everything have planed out nicely (both tradition and marketing side). I really have to hand it to the organizer. Everyone is looking forward to tomorrow (except the guys I say) Even i got a little excited about it.
Besides the gorgeous ring, a beautiful wedding gown is the biggest dream for all girls and in this case it have been a secret of how Princess's will look like. I'm curious too although i think it will be quite elegant, traditional, classic but very very beautiful. Swedish design of cause . We'll see about that soon enough. After all watching "Say yes to the dress" I do wanna see hers.
And by the way, I also believe Stockholm is a city of love. Everything is so charming about this lovely city and what not to love about it. All i can say is Love is definitely in Stockholm.

Dont forget your Birthday

So it was my birthday yesterday and I have to say it wasnt anything so super spectacular surprise BUT I love it ! Sense of not over celebrate and just only care by people who are important in my life is PERFECT feeling for me. Plus turning almost old isnt worth too much excitment.

For number of years now that I've always give credit for my mother. Despite all the 'love/hate' we have, it is one of the day that i will make sure that she is important. Without her/dad i wouldn't be here and standing strong. So I have her to thank for that. Don't forget that people. So before you went out partying and get all drunk let your parents know how much they mean to u. Happy Birthday to me and Love u ,mommy XXX

Why does it say " Happy Birthday " . . . . Meaning you can do anything that makes you happy on your special day even most non-sense thing. And everyday can be as special. So you can have more than 1 special day in your life.

Vintage Digger # 1

For all those Vintage Digger like myself this gonna be some useful tips from me!
I always think of myself I was born in a wrong era. I always fond of everything vintage, clothes, decorations, cars and even people. I think vintage fits me well or maybe I have the face for it. When I was in BKK, it was about 3-4 years back when everybody went all crazy about “vintage” so it was everywhere and price was a bit more than I used to shop before. JJ, Wang-lang and the Border market between Thai and Cambodia were very popular Then the fashion dies down and it begins to be a little bit hard to find…thought that didn’t stop me. Vintage and second handed has theirs charm. They are unique, different and you don’t have to worry much about running into the same clothes as others. P’ Lek, the owner of Cheery Black store (located under Siam Movie theater – where it’s not much left now) introduced me how all these can be so fascinating. When the vintage era die down in Bangkok I have to admit I was a bit happy cause then I don’t have to fight with others. Flee market and cheap mall racks seem to be where I dig my time most. Always find something cool and FAB and sometime Branding as well. But then again.. I don’t follow brands they tend to follow me.

Now that I move myself to Sweden, Vintage shopping here is easier but yet more expensive because of the exchange rate and quality of the goodies. Though I have to say you can find some spectacular things here if you think it worth your style and money. In Sweden they have both “Vintage” and “Second handed” , both are value to me. Vintage can be super cool in color, style, pattern and cutting while many brand name items can usually be found in Second handed section. Basic brand here is H & M (No need to say) and other locals are such as Cubus, Indiska, BikBok, EVE, etc. Some brands are more expensive than others. Once in a while I would find some top brand and if I am lucky it will be my size. One time I found a pair of cargo pants by Marc Jacobs cost 45 SEK. (220 THB) but nop! Size 6 – No me!
It is almost like searching for treasure. I guess this is why it fun! Like a box of chocolate, you never know what you’re gonna get. Sometime you gone home full of stuffs and sometime empty bag. Thus they could be a great inspiration for those who love fashion and design. Not only clothes we are talking but also some vintage furniture, house decoration and many more. Some time it just cheaper to buy things here as long as one at home is ok with it. I always say “Somebody trash might be somebody else’s treasure”.

Either you like Vintage, Modern, Self-made or seconded that should not stop you from your own style. Be true to yourself and know yourself first. Style doesn’t come out of latest magazine, TV Stars, some stylist or most famous singer. Remember it comes from your true inner self.
Will be back with more huting clues.. Ses snart!

Patient is the beauty of waiting

Dear All,

Everyday is a new begining

Will count today as my new beginning of another chapter in life well...my own little life.I am just a little girl who grew up to be this curious lady about the world and people. Though my word is quite small since I only open to some part of it that worth memorable.

I grew up in a busy city of Bangkok and lucky enough to travel and spend part of my life seeing another side of the world. Not so long ago I took the journey to different path and begin something new and special to my heart. For once again I follow my heart and I do hope it will lead me where happiness can be found as it usually do. I landed in Stockholm, Sweden for a little while now. Have always found the peace and simplicity here since 2 years back when I was a student here. And now that destiny and love took me here again I might as well cherish it.

I have this idea of putting all my thoughts, idea and inspirations in to a place where people who would like to reach me be able to. And hoping that some of this thoughts will also inspire others as well.

I don't have a lot of knowledge of everything in the would and every words may not be a single fact but it comes from my heart and what it see. My only knowledge is experince in life. My English/grammar probably far from perfect but I do hope my words can travel through your understanding. Please feel free to exchange your opinions. I would love to hear what you have to say.

So now let's start something new together....
